Nyerere National park
Your adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Nyerere National Park. After check-in, board your flight and enjoy a scenic journey from Zanzibar to the mainland. Upon arrival at the appropriate Nyerere airstrip, you will meet your professional safari driver-guide and begin your game-drive adventure.
After a short briefing, we enter Nyerere National Park and start exploring its beautiful wilderness. Your experienced safari guide will take you through different areas of the park while searching for wildlife and explaining the ecosystem, animal behavior and conservation importance of the destination. During the game drive, you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, hippos and numerous bird species. With good fortune, you may also have opportunities to see lions, wild dogs and other predators.
The safari continues through the park's diverse landscapes, including open grasslands, woodland, wetlands and areas surrounding rivers and lakes. Nyerere is particularly known for its large wildlife populations and its beautiful waterways, which create a distinctive safari environment. Your guide will select suitable routes according to wildlife movements, road conditions and the available time before your return flight.
Around midday, enjoy a packed safari lunch and drinking water at a designated picnic area or another suitable location according to park regulations. After lunch, continue with the game drive, giving you additional opportunities to observe wildlife and photograph the spectacular scenery. The afternoon drive also allows you to explore another section of the park before making your way toward the airstrip.
Later in the afternoon, arrive at the airstrip in time for your scheduled return flight to Zanzibar. Board your domestic flight and enjoy the scenic journey back to the island. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, our representative will meet you and arrange your transfer back to your hotel, marking the end of your one-day Nyerere National Park fly-in fly-out safari.
