Ngorongoro to arusha
Your adventure begins very early in the morning with pickup from your hotel or a designated meeting point in Arusha. You will join other safari travelers and meet your professional driver-guide before departing toward the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The journey takes you through the beautiful landscapes of northern Tanzania, passing local villages, farms and highland scenery as you travel toward the crater.
Upon arrival at the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, the safari vehicle proceeds toward the crater rim before descending into the crater. As you descend, you will enjoy spectacular views of the vast volcanic caldera and the wildlife-rich landscape below. Once on the crater floor, we begin our game drive through open grasslands, wetlands, woodland and other habitats where large numbers of animals can be found.
During the game drive, you may encounter wildebeest, zebras, buffaloes, gazelles, warthogs, hippos, elephants, hyenas, jackals and different species of birds. Ngorongoro is also well known for its resident lion population and offers an excellent opportunity to search for predators. With good fortune, you may also have the opportunity to see the endangered black rhinoceros. Your experienced guide will help you identify the animals, explain their behavior and select suitable routes according to wildlife movements and park conditions.
Around midday, we stop at a designated picnic area for a packed lunch. Enjoy your meal while taking a short break from the game drive and appreciating the unique surroundings. After lunch, we continue exploring the crater floor, searching for more wildlife and enjoying opportunities for photography. The shared nature of the joining safari also gives you the opportunity to meet and travel with other visitors from different countries.
In the afternoon, we begin our final game drive while gradually making our way toward the crater ascent route. Before leaving the crater, you will have additional opportunities to observe wildlife and photograph the dramatic scenery of the crater walls, grasslands and wetlands. We then ascend from the crater and begin the return journey to Arusha.
We expect to arrive in Arusha in the evening, depending on road conditions, traffic and the number of travelers being dropped off. You will be transferred to your hotel or designated drop-off point, marking the end of your one-day Ngorongoro Crater joining safari.
