Day Zanzibar to Mikumi National Park Fly-In Fly-Out Safari

Your adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar and transfer to Zanzibar Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to the Mikumi area. After check-in and boarding, enjoy the scenic flight from Zanzibar toward the mainland. Upon arrival at the designated airstrip serving the Mikumi safari area, you will meet your professional safari driver-guide and begin your wildlife adventure.

After a short briefing, we start a game drive through Mikumi National Park. Your experienced driver-guide will take you through different areas of the park while searching for wildlife and explaining the animals, vegetation and ecosystem. Mikumi is home to a variety of wildlife, and during the game drive you may encounter elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffaloes, impalas, warthogs, baboons and hippos. With good fortune, you may also see predators such as lions and other carnivores. The park's open plains and distinctive landscapes provide excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and photography.

During the safari, we continue exploring the park while looking for wildlife and enjoying the natural scenery. Your guide will select suitable game-drive routes depending on wildlife movements, road conditions and the time available before your return flight. You will have several opportunities to stop for wildlife observation and photography while enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of the Tanzanian wilderness.

Around midday, you will enjoy a packed safari lunch and drinking water at a designated picnic area or suitable location according to park regulations. After lunch, continue with the game drive for additional wildlife viewing before gradually making your way toward the airstrip. The afternoon game drive provides another opportunity to see animals that may become active around water sources and open grassland areas.

Later in the afternoon, you will arrive at the airstrip in time for your scheduled return flight. Board your domestic flight from the Mikumi area back to Zanzibar and enjoy the scenic journey across Tanzania. Upon arrival at Zanzibar Airport, our representative will meet you and arrange your transfer back to your hotel, marking the end of your memorable one-day Zanzibar–Mikumi fly-in fly-out safari.
