arrival in Nakupenda island
MORNING: STONE TOWN – PRISON ISLAND
Your day begins with pickup from your hotel in Stone Town or a meeting at the Stone Town waterfront. You will board a traditional or modern tour boat and sail across the clear waters toward Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island. On arrival, your guide will introduce you to the island and its history before taking you to see the famous Aldabra giant tortoises. You will have time to observe and photograph these impressive animals while learning about their conservation. The island also offers an opportunity to see its historic buildings and enjoy the surrounding coastal scenery.
LATE MORNING: BOAT TO NAKUPENDA SANDBANK
After exploring Prison Island, you will continue by boat to Nakupenda Sandbank, one of the popular marine excursions from Stone Town. The sandbank is surrounded by clear turquoise water and its appearance and size are influenced by the tides. Here you will have time to swim, snorkel, relax on the sand, enjoy the ocean views and take photographs.
LUNCH: SEAFOOD BBQ & TROPICAL FRUITS
At Nakupenda, enjoy a freshly prepared seafood barbecue or vegetarian meal, accompanied by tropical fruits and refreshments. Depending on the selected menu, lunch may include seafood, fish, salads, fries and fresh Zanzibar fruits. After lunch, you can continue relaxing, swimming or snorkeling before preparing for the return boat journey.
AFTERNOON: NAKUPENDA – STONE TOWN
In the afternoon, you will board the boat back toward Stone Town. Upon arrival at the waterfront, you will be transferred back to your hotel or dropped off at the agreed meeting point, marking the end of your memorable Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbank day trip.
