Best chemka hotsprings experience(Kikuletwa Natural Oasis, Swimming & Relaxation Experience

07:30–08:30 AM – Hotel Pickup

Your professional guide and driver will pick you up from your hotel in Arusha or Moshi.

After a short briefing, you will begin your journey toward Chemka Hot Springs.

The drive takes you through the countryside, where you can see local villages, farms and everyday Tanzanian life.

For guests departing from Moshi, Chemka is generally around an hour to 1½ hours away depending on the starting point and road conditions.

09:30–10:00 AM – Arrival at Chemka

Arrive at the Chemka/Kikuletwa Hot Springs area.

Your guide will assist with the entrance arrangements and provide a short briefing about the area and swimming safety.

As you approach the spring, the landscape changes dramatically. After traveling through relatively dry countryside, you arrive at a green oasis surrounded by trees and vegetation.

The clear turquoise water beneath the trees creates one of the most distinctive natural settings around the Kilimanjaro area.

???? 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM: SWIMMING & HOT SPRING EXPERIENCE

This is the main part of your Chemka experience.

Enjoy several hours at the natural spring where you can:

Enter the clear warm water and enjoy a refreshing swim.

???? Rope Swing

For adventurous visitors, try the rope swing and jump into the spring.

???? Relaxation

Relax under the shade of the surrounding trees, read a book, enjoy the scenery or simply float in the water.

???? Photography

Chemka provides excellent opportunities for photographs, particularly around the turquoise water, trees and natural surroundings.

???? Water Exploration

The exceptionally clear water allows visitors to appreciate the underwater environment. Some operators also provide snorkeling equipment as part of selected packages.

???? Fish Experience

Small fish can sometimes be seen around visitors' feet, creating a fun and unusual part of the experience.

Safety note: Some sections of the spring are deep, so visitors who are not confident swimmers should remain in suitable shallow areas and follow the guide's instructions.

????️ 12:30–01:30 PM – PICNIC LUNCH

Enjoy a freshly prepared picnic lunch in the shade near the spring.

Seasonal fruits
Water/soft drink

Vegetarian meals can be arranged upon request.

This is also a good opportunity to relax, take photographs and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.

After lunch, enjoy additional free time.

You can choose to:

Swim
Float in the spring
Take photographs
Relax under the trees
Enjoy the scenery
Try the rope swing again
Socialize with your travel companions

We recommend allowing enough time here rather than rushing the experience.

???? 02:30–03:00 PM – DEPARTURE FROM CHEMKA

After your final photographs and preparation, meet your driver-guide and begin the return journey.

Depending on your package, you can either return directly to your hotel or add another activity such as a local village or coffee experience.

???? 04:00–05:30 PM – RETURN TO ARUSHA/MOSHI

Arrive back at your hotel after a relaxing day at Chemka Hot Springs.

The total experience commonly takes approximately 4–8 hours, depending on the starting location, road conditions and amount of time spent at the springs.
